Well, I believe that window tinting is one of those things that you do not want to get involved in. tint is hard, i have no professional experience but i feel ive gotten pretty decent at it after a fue vehicles ive had. my first attempt was a disaster though. tint remover is a life saver!

Zach, thanks for showing me the DIY vs. pro ins and outs. I learned a few things and discovered a new use for baby shampoo! The time consideration should include the time it takes to transport your vehicle to and from the Pro's shop and the wait time while he/she is working on it. Speaking of time, the time I spent watching your video was worth it!

I did my own tint and did my own alignment. That pre-cut best ceramic tint is cheap enough to try. It was fun the hard part is pre-shrinking and removing old tint. He did his own alignment as well in another video so I'm surprised he recommends this to a pro but not an alignment.

Lol don’t worry you’ll be able to see how bad of a tint job you really did in about a week or so. Lol I tried it myself too and it looked great then a week later all the small imperfections get a lot worse

I learned to tint by looking at tinting videos on CSsun. I’d say go for it. You could earn money tinting other peoples car. It’s hard so you’ll need patience but it’s worth it in the end.

I only had 28€ cheap film, and it worked great. I put a few scratches in the film but everything else is immacular. I didnt even use a razor blade on the windows. Just try and learn guys :)

I have a 2012silver Prius C. Just like the car in the video. The car is a Prius C not a Prius. I have 35% on all but the front windsheld. That was the law at the time in my state of IL. Before that I has a 2010 Scion TC the law at that was back as dark as you want (Limo tint). You couldn't touch the front.

Haha 5 or 6 cars and you would be good. Nope. Try 500 or 600 cars and you would be eh. The average tinter tints 1200 to 1500 vehicles a year. It takes 6 months to a year to be considered kind of comfortable. In order to learn to have to mess up and since no vehicle is the same your going to mess up ALOT. Oh and the reason you scratched the film on the front quarter window was because you looked at it ... suntek doesnt have a scratch coating thats worth anything. Suntek is 1 of the worst film companies on the market. Sunteks carbon line IS a dyed film and will fade out and bubble up in 2 to 3 years. Also the brief intro to film types was all wrong. 100% all of it.

As the manager of a tint shop, this is one of the hardest Donut episodes to watch 😂 At least y’all are using SunTek.. sad it was just Carbon 😞 My shop uses three SunTek film lines for automotive - Carbon, CXP (which is a premium carbon if you will), and then there and their CeramicIR (CIR). We ALWAYS hand cut and we take a lot of pride in our work.

I just bought a new F250 STX crew cab. I had the back window, and rear door windows tinted at 15%, and the front windows at 20% with the ceramic tint. At first I thought that I should of went darker, but after a couple of weeks I am happy with it. The front windshield is massive and needs to be tinted. I know it illegal, but....

Isn't blocking infrared light a bad thing? Because the sun's energy comes as visible light and you would be keeping the radiation from your dash/seats inside. Actually, windows are not great at letting IR radiation out, that's why cars get hot in the sun.

When I bought one of my previous cars, it came with tinted windows, which creased over time, and eventually, I had to get it replaced because it looked ugly. I paid a locally well-known window tint company to install it and they gave me a lifetime warranty that is transferrable to a new owner. When I got another car, I went with the same company since I knew that the window tint of my old car lasted a few years under my ownership. Basically, you CAN install window tints on your own, but unless you're confident in your skills, then you shouldn't do it.

I laugh whenever I see a moron in my city with a do-it-yourself window tint job. It always peels off within a year or so because they ignore the First Commandment of window tinting: Thy holy window must be CLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAAANNNNN. I mean it must be cleaner than a food factory. In one video run by a guy who does detailing, he spent MORE time cleaning the window than actually applying the window tint. That's NORMAL. Always pay a professional to do it. Always.

😂 you can fix cars but can't tint! my first time was pretty good without using a heat gun. bought some good tint film from O Reillys and still looks good to this day! It helps to watch videos before you do it lol. its not that hard just takes practice. since then ive tinted a couple other cars and saved money. would still use a pro if I had the money and was feeling lazy
